Gurgaon: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Monday flagged off 312 new emergency response vehicles (ERVs) for Haryana Police in Gurgaon, including 310 motorcycles and two cars. The initiative aims to strengthen law and order and improve emergency response across the state.
Deployment and CSR Initiative
The vehicles, provided under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, will be deployed across Gurgaon, Faridabad, and other districts to enhance police patrolling and ensure faster assistance during emergencies.
Chief Minister's Remarks
Addressing the gathering, Saini praised Haryana Police for achieving an average emergency response time of just 7 minutes and 3 seconds, significantly lower than the national average of around 18 minutes. He termed the achievement a reflection of good governance and the state's commitment to public safety.
The chief minister said the state government had equipped the police force with modern technology and strengthened the emergency response system, adding that the induction of the new ERVs would further improve policing efficiency. He also urged citizens to strictly follow road safety norms.
Impact on Development
Saini said the initiative demonstrated how coordinated efforts by the government, administration, industry, and society could accelerate development and improve public services. He added that the vehicles would be deployed at sensitive and strategic locations across Haryana to ensure prompt police intervention and help prevent crime.
Distribution Details
According to officials, Gurgaon has received 60 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate vehicle, while Faridabad has been allotted 40 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate. The remaining 210 motorcycles have been distributed among other districts in the state.
Police Chief's Response
Director General of Police Ajay Singhal thanked the chief minister for acknowledging the efforts of Haryana Police and said the addition of the advanced vehicles would further strengthen law and order. He said the motorcycles would enable police personnel to quickly reach emergency sites, including congested and narrow areas, thereby enhancing public safety and security.
