Hazaribag Police Launch Major Crackdown, Seize 27 Motorcycles in Villages

In a significant enforcement action, Hazaribag district police seized a total of 27 motorcycles from Napokhurd and surrounding villages on Saturday. One individual has been detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. According to police officials, some of the confiscated bikes were allegedly involved in various illegal activities, including unlawful coal trade, illicit liquor business, and gambling operations.

Police Verify Vehicle Details to Identify Stolen Property

Krishna Kumar Gupta, the officer in-charge of Barkagaon police station, stated that authorities are meticulously verifying the engine and chassis numbers of all seized motorcycles. This process involves cross-checking these details with records of stolen vehicles reported across police stations in Hazaribag district. Our priority is to identify any stolen vehicles and ensure they are returned to their rightful owners after proper verification, Gupta emphasized.

Public Advisory on Second-Hand Vehicle Purchases

In an appeal to the public, Gupta urged potential buyers to exercise caution when purchasing second-hand vehicles. He recommended verifying registration certificates, chassis numbers, and engine numbers through official records before completing any transactions. Check ownership details thoroughly and avoid deals that seem unusually cheap or lack proper documentation, he advised. Additionally, Gupta encouraged citizens to report any suspicious vehicles to the police, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential to protect their safety.

This crackdown highlights the police's efforts to combat crime and illegal trade in the region, with a focus on ensuring community safety and property recovery. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover further details and potentially make more arrests related to the seized motorcycles.
