Hazaribag Ram Navami: 230 CCTV Cameras, Drones Deployed for Procession Security
The Hazaribag district administration has implemented extensive security measures for the upcoming Ram Navami processions, installing a total of 230 CCTV cameras across key locations in the city. This surveillance initiative aims to ensure public safety and maintain law and order during the religious festival.
Comprehensive Surveillance Network
Officials have deployed 55 permanent and 175 temporary CCTV units at strategic points throughout Hazaribag. The installation covers major intersections and sensitive areas including:

- Sadar Hospital Water Tank
- Pagoda Chowk
- Jhanda Chowk
- Malviya Marg
- Kalibadi Marg
- Bara Akhara
- Mahavir Mandal Chowk
- Mahesh Soni Chowk
- Ashok Chowk
- Masjid Road
- Bara Bazar Chowk
- Sardar Chowk
- Old Bus Stand Chowk
- Korra Chowk
- Matwari Chowk
- Zila Parishad Chowk
All visual feeds from these cameras will be monitored in real-time at a dedicated control room, providing authorities with continuous oversight of procession routes and crowd movements.
Additional Security Measures
Beyond the CCTV network, the administration is deploying drone cameras in 20 sensitive and highly sensitive areas to enhance aerial surveillance capabilities. This multi-layered approach combines ground-level monitoring with overhead observation for comprehensive security coverage.
The fire department has positioned eight fire engines at critical locations including Chhotki Gwal Toli Chowk, Sadar Police Station, Indrapuri Chowk, Collectorate Chowk, and Sardar Chowk. Additionally, six anti-riot vehicles will be deployed along sensitive routes to respond quickly to any potential disturbances.
Administrative Warnings and Preparations
Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh issued a stern warning, stating that "strict legal action will be taken against anyone found taking the law into their own hands or indulging in anti-social activities." He appealed to residents to maintain discipline and cooperate with authorities during the festival celebrations.
Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan emphasized the scale of the event, noting that "the festival draws lakhs of devotees each year" and that extensive arrangements are being made to ensure the smooth conduct of religious processions. The police have established three district-level control rooms in Hazaribag, Barkagaon, and Barhi that will operate round the clock to monitor the situation throughout the festival period.
These comprehensive security measures reflect the administration's commitment to maintaining peace and order during one of the region's most significant religious gatherings, balancing devotional celebrations with robust public safety protocols.
