Hazaribag District Implements Strict Social Media Measures for Ram Navami Festivities
In a proactive move to ensure peace and security, the Hazaribag district administration has issued a directive to various akhara committees, requiring them to adjust the settings of their WhatsApp groups to 'admin only' mode. This significant step is specifically aimed at preventing the circulation of fake news and the spread of rumors during the upcoming Ram Navami processions scheduled for later this week.
Official Meeting and Key Directives
Deputy Commissioner Sashi Prakash Singh, who chaired a crucial meeting with all akhara representatives along with Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan on Sunday evening, emphasized the collective responsibility in maintaining social media integrity. Singh stated that it is imperative to ensure that unverified news or information does not go viral on WhatsApp or other social media platforms, which could potentially disrupt public order.
Furthermore, Singh highlighted that songs which might incite tension or communal discord should not be played during the processions. This directive underscores the administration's commitment to fostering a harmonious environment during the religious celebrations.
Safety Precautions for Traditional Arms
SP Anjani Anjan added another layer of caution by advising special care while using traditional arms during the processions. He pointed out that these arms pose a risk of injuries to participants, and thus, their handling must be done with utmost responsibility to avoid any accidents or mishaps.
The administration's comprehensive approach includes:
- WhatsApp Group Restrictions: Setting groups to 'admin only' to control message dissemination.
- Content Monitoring: Prohibiting songs that could stoke tensions.
- Safety Protocols: Exercising caution with traditional arms to prevent injuries.
These measures are part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order, ensuring that the Ram Navami festivities proceed smoothly without any untoward incidents. The administration's focus on digital vigilance reflects the growing importance of social media management in public safety efforts during large-scale events.
