BHOPAL: The petition seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to retired district judge Giribala Singh, an accused in the alleged dowry death case of her daughter-in-law, will be heard by the vacation bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday afternoon.
Case Background
The family of Twisha Singh, the deceased daughter-in-law of Giribala Singh, has approached the high court requesting the cancellation of the anticipatory bail that was granted to the retired judge by a Bhopal sessions court. The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of a former judicial officer.
Giribala Singh to Represent Herself
It is likely that Giribala Singh will argue her own case in the high court. However, her counsel, Enosh George Carlo, is also present in the high court and has submitted a 'vakalatnama' on her behalf. There were reports in a section of the media suggesting that Carlo had withdrawn from the case, but he has denied these reports.
Supreme Court's Intervention
The case has also seen the involvement of the Supreme Court, which stepped into the matter after Twisha Sharma's last rites were performed in Bhopal. The apex court's intervention highlights the seriousness of the allegations and the need for a fair judicial process.
The high court's decision on Monday is expected to be a crucial development in this case, as it will determine whether the anticipatory bail granted to the retired judge will be revoked or upheld.
