One person has been booked under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act after 132 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession in the Chirgaon area under Shimla district, the police said today.
Accused Identified
The accused has been identified as Sheesh Pal, a resident of Chirgaon. According to the police, they received information regarding a person carrying a large quantity of illicit liquor. Following the input, the police intercepted him with 11 cases, including 48 bottles of whiskey, 72 bottles of country liquor and 12 bottles of beer. The police seized the bottles.
Legal Action
Shimla Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said a case under Section 39 (1) (A) of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act has been registered and further investigation is going on.
