Himachal Pradesh Government Announces Major IPS Officer Reshuffle
The government of Himachal Pradesh executed a significant administrative reshuffle on Thursday evening, transferring a total of twelve Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various key positions. This move includes the reassignment of Superintendents of Police (SPs) for three crucial districts, alongside several other senior-level appointments within the state police hierarchy.
Key District SP Postings Announced
In the most prominent changes affecting district policing, Gaurav Singh has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police for Shimla. Sachin Hiremath takes over as the SP for Una district, while Tirumalaraju SD Varma assumes the role of SP for Solan. These postings are critical for maintaining law and order in these important regions of the state.
Other Significant Appointments and Transfers
The reshuffle extends beyond district postings to include several other strategic roles. Sandeep Kumar Bhardwaj has been posted as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) to the Governor. Sakshi Verma is now the SP for the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau located in Mandi. Arvind Chaudhary has been appointed as the Commandant of the 4th Indian Reserve Battalion in Jangalberi.
At the senior officer level, Abhishek Dular has been posted as the Inspector General (IG) for Communication and Technical Services. DK Chaudhary takes on the role of IG for Armed Police and Training in Daroh. Rohit Malpani is now the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Cyber Crime. Ramesh Chander Chhhajta assumes the position of DIG for Prisons and Correctional Services, while Devakar Sharma becomes the DIG for Intelligence and Security in Dharamshala. Additionally, Soumya Sambasivan has been given the additional charge of Principal at the Police Training College in Daroh.
Officers Relieved from Previous Duties
Concurrently, the outgoing Shimla SP, Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, who has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel. The former Una SP, Amit Yadav, has been directed to report to the State Police Headquarters, awaiting further orders following his transfer.
