The deceased has been identified as Kundan Kumar, a resident of Sohdi village under Mahuli police station area. He was the youngest son of Rambalak Yadav, who works as a migrant laborer in Mumbai.
According to police reports, Kundan had attended the religious fair along with two companions from his village—Shivam Kumar, son of Sanjay Sao, and Nitish Kumar, son of Nawal Kumar. The three teenagers were walking home when a speeding motorcycle struck them near a culvert in front of Revta Plus Two High School, located between Mahuli and Raghunathpur villages.
Emergency Response and Medical Treatment
All three victims sustained severe injuries in the collision. Upon receiving notification of the accident, a police team led by Mahuli Station House Officer Ram Pravesh Bharti immediately rushed to the scene. The injured were quickly transported to Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Despite medical efforts, doctors at the hospital pronounced Kundan dead upon arrival. The two surviving teenagers received treatment for their injuries, though their current condition remains undisclosed. Officer Bharti confirmed that Kundan's body has been sent to a government hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Investigation and Community Response
The police have classified this as a hit-and-run case, as the motorcycle driver fled the scene immediately after the collision and remains unidentified. Officer Bharti stated that further legal action will proceed once a formal complaint is filed by the victims' families.
Local community leader and panchayat samiti member Paras Kumar has highlighted the economic vulnerability of Kundan's family. He has formally demanded government compensation for the bereaved family, noting that Rambalak Yadav works as a migrant laborer with limited financial resources.
Family Tragedy and Aftermath
In a heartbreaking development, Kundan's father Rambalak Yadav has boarded a train from Mumbai to return home after being informed of his son's tragic death. The family now faces both emotional devastation and financial uncertainty following this sudden loss.
