Dharmapuri Court Evacuated Following Hoax Bomb Threat Email
Judges, advocates, and court staff at the Dharmapuri district combined court were swiftly evacuated on Tuesday morning after authorities received a threatening email claiming a bomb would detonate on the premises. The email, which arrived in the early hours, specified an explosion time of 12:20 PM, prompting immediate action from court officials.
Police and Bomb Squad Deployed for Intensive Search Operation
Upon receiving the alert, court personnel promptly notified local police, who responded by deploying the specialized Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The operation included the use of a highly trained sniffer dog named Loopy, who assisted in meticulously scanning the court complex for any suspicious items or devices.
An extensive evacuation was carried out, clearing the entire court campus of all individuals to ensure safety during the search. Police and BDDS officers conducted a thorough inspection of multiple areas within the complex, leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to locate potential threats.
Threat Declared a Hoax After No Suspicious Findings
After completing a comprehensive search, the BDDS officers concluded that the threat was unfounded, declaring it a hoax. No suspicious materials or devices were discovered during the operation, allowing authorities to give the all-clear and permit normal activities to resume at the court.
This incident marks the second such hoax bomb threat received by the Dharmapuri court in recent weeks, with a similar false alarm occurring just last week. The recurrence highlights ongoing concerns about security protocols and the disruptive impact of such malicious communications on judicial operations.
Local authorities are now investigating the source of the email to identify and apprehend those responsible for the hoax. The use of sniffer dog Loopy and the coordinated response between court staff and police underscore the seriousness with which such threats are treated, even when they ultimately prove to be false.
