Holi Festivities Descend into Violence at Noida Residential Society
A joyous Holi celebration at the Shri Radha Sky Garden society in Bisrakh, Noida, took an ugly turn on Tuesday, culminating in a physical altercation that required police intervention. The incident, which began as a minor dispute over noise levels, rapidly escalated, leading to the arrest of ten individuals from conflicting groups.
From Celebration to Confrontation
Residents of the society had congregated on the premises to celebrate the festival of colors, with a DJ providing musical entertainment for the occasion. According to official police reports, the situation deteriorated when a security guard on duty allegedly requested the revelers to lower the volume of their celebrations.
This request for reduced noise sparked an immediate and heated argument between the guard and a group of residents. The confrontation quickly drew in additional security personnel who arrived at the scene, intensifying the disagreement.
Allegations of Violence and Police Response
Witnesses and complainants informed the police that the verbal dispute soon turned physical. It is alleged that three to four security guards attacked some residents with sticks, which prompted the residents to retaliate, resulting in a full-blown scuffle involving pushing, thrashing, and assaults from both sides.
Upon receiving information about the violent outbreak, a team from the Bisrakh Police Station swiftly arrived at Shri Radha Sky Garden society. The officers managed to bring the volatile situation under control and initiated an investigation.
Legal Action and Arrests
Following the incident, formal complaints were lodged by both parties involved—the residents and the security personnel. Based on these complaints, the Bisrakh police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused individuals.
Police officials confirmed that a total of ten people were arrested from the conflicting groups. The arrests were made under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to breach of peace and assault. The police action underscores a zero-tolerance approach towards public disturbances and violence, especially during community events.
