Narayankhed circle inspector G Srinivas Reddy provided a detailed account of the sequence of events. "The ASI had reached the tehsildar's office, which is a designated point for the patrolling team to visit during their rounds. At that moment, the vehicle driven by home guard Rama Rao hit him from behind with significant force," Inspector Reddy stated. "ASI Nayak fell onto the road surface and sustained a severe head injury from the impact."

Following the collision, both Rama Rao and constable Venkatesh acted quickly by rushing the injured ASI to the Narayankhed government hospital in the same Bolero vehicle.
