A shocking incident of murder has come to light in Kolhapur district, where a 42-year-old hotel owner was brutally hacked to death by his acquaintance over a financial dispute. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon in Kodoli town, leaving the local community in a state of shock.
Details of the Incident
The deceased has been identified as Abhijeet Prakash Jadhav, a resident of Kodoli and the owner of a local hotel. According to police officials, the accused, Sandip Patil, was a friend of the victim. The two had a close association, which turned sour over a monetary matter.
Police investigations revealed that Jadhav had borrowed money from Patil to start his hotel business. However, when Patil repeatedly demanded the return of his money, Jadhav kept delaying the repayment, citing financial difficulties. This ongoing tension eventually escalated into a violent confrontation on Sunday.
The Attack
During the altercation, Patil picked up a metal handle, which is typically used for operating the shutter of a shop, and attacked Jadhav with it. The heavy metal handle struck Jadhav on the head, causing a severe injury and profuse bleeding. Witnesses immediately rushed the victim to CPR Hospital in Kolhapur, but the doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Arrest of the Accused
