Hotel Owner Opens Fire on Man in Boisar Village, Police Probe Marriage Link
In a shocking incident in Palghar district, a hotelier allegedly opened fire on a man inside his residence in Vadhave village, Boisar, in the early hours of Sunday. The attack occurred around 2:30 am, with the accused using a pistol before fleeing the scene.
Victim Rushed to Hospital with Severe Injuries
The victim, identified as 52-year-old Suresh Varghade, was found bleeding profusely and was immediately taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment. After being stabilised, he was transferred to a hospital in Navsari upon his family's request. Medical scans revealed that the bullet had become lodged in his skull.
Police officials confirmed that the bullet was successfully removed later in the evening, and the victim is now in stable condition but remains under close medical observation.
Police Investigate Motive Linked to Marriage
According to preliminary information from law enforcement sources, the shooting may be connected to a recent marriage. A female staff member who previously worked and resided at the hotel owned by the accused reportedly fell in love with and married the victim's son last month. This development is believed to have deeply upset the hotelier, identified as Umesh Gharat.
"We are probing if this was the reason," stated an officer from the Boisar police station. Police have filed a case under sections related to attempt to murder and violations of the arms act.
Manhunt Launched for Accused Hotelier
Palghar Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh announced that teams have been formed to search for the accused. "We have formed teams to search the accused and are probing if this marriage had any relation with the crime," Deshmukh said, emphasising the ongoing investigation into the potential motive.
The case highlights tensions in the community, with police working to piece together the events leading to the violent attack. Authorities are examining all angles, including the personal and professional relationships involved, to ensure a thorough inquiry.
