HPCL Engineer Arrested for Alleged Brutal Murder of Twin Sister in Moradabad
In a shocking incident in Moradabad, a 25-year-old engineer from HPCL has been arrested for the alleged murder of his twin sister, with post-mortem details revealing an extremely brutal assault. Senior police officers described the crime scene as one of the most brutal they have encountered in their careers.
Post-Mortem Report Details Extensive Injuries
Moradabad SP Kumar Ranvijay stated that the post-mortem report showed the victim, Himshikha, suffered at least 50 deep stab wounds across her neck, chest, abdomen, arms, legs, shoulders, and face. Several vital organs, including the heart, liver, and kidneys, were severely damaged, with almost no part of her body spared from the attack.
Motive Linked to Failed Online Relationship
Police investigations revealed that the accused, Hardik Malhotra, had been in an online relationship with a woman from another faith for seven months, communicating solely through social media without ever meeting in person. The relationship ended a few weeks before the murder, leaving him disturbed. Himshikha had reportedly counselled him to focus on his career instead.
Background and Circumstances of the Attack
The twins, originally from Badaun, were living together in Gurugram, where Himshikha worked in a private firm and was preparing for MBA exams. Hardik had left his job as a software engineer a year ago to pursue a career in social media content development. They had returned to their home in Moradabad for the Holi festival when another argument over the relationship issue escalated.
On the evening of March 7, Hardik allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and attacked his sister. After the murder, he drove to his mother Neelima Malhotra's office, where she worked as an assistant manager in a private insurance firm, and brought her back to the house. Upon seeing the scene, she screamed, and Hardik attacked her as well, causing multiple injuries. She survived and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
