Hubballi Police Announce Extensive Traffic Diversions for Eid Celebrations

In preparation for the festive Eid celebrations, the Hubballi police have implemented significant traffic diversions across the city. These measures will be in effect on Saturday from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM, aiming to ensure smooth movement and safety during the religious observances.

Detailed Route Changes for KSRTC Buses

Buses from Gadag and Railway Station Side: All KSRTC buses arriving from Gadag and the railway station area must halt at Pinto Circle. Passengers will be dropped off at this point, after which the buses will return via Gadag Road. This diversion is crucial to manage the influx of vehicles during peak hours.

Buses from Navalgund Road: For KSRTC buses coming from Navalgund Road, the designated stop is Sarvodaya Circle. Similar to other routes, passengers will disembark here, and the buses will then head back towards Navalgund to avoid congestion in the city center.

Long-Distance and Rural Buses: Buses traveling from Gadag and various rural areas to Hubballi are required to use the Ring Road. They should take the Gabbur Bypass, followed by the Tarihal Bypass, and proceed via Gokul Road to reach the new and Hosur bus stations. This route is also mandatory for buses originating from Navalgund, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, and other rural regions, ensuring they avoid inner-city traffic.

Alternate Routes for Light and Heavy Vehicles

Light Vehicles from Railway Station: Light vehicles approaching from the railway station should navigate through Pinto Circle, Desai Cross, and Cotton Market. From there, they can proceed to Lakshmi Way Bridge and connect to Hosur Cross, facilitating a smoother flow away from restricted zones.

Vehicles from Karwar Road and Bengaluru: Vehicles coming from Karwar Road must travel from Karwar Road Plaza via Tarihal and Gokul Road to reach Hosur Circle. This route allows them to continue towards Dharwad or Navalgund/Gadag via Bhagat Singh Cross. Similarly, vehicles from Bengaluru and Gabbur heading to Dharwad should utilize the bypass via Tarihal and Gokul Road to access the new bus station and proceed to Dharwad.

Restrictions and Prohibitions: Authorities have imposed strict restrictions on vehicle movement around Neelijin Road and Chennamma Circle. Additionally, heavy vehicles are prohibited from entering the city during this period. Other restricted areas include Sangolli Rayanna Circle, Chennamma Circle, and the old bus station, with heavy vehicles being held outside the city temporarily.

Specific Vehicle Instructions and Temporary Arrangements

Chigari Buses: For Chigari buses operating between Hubli and Dharwad, the approved route is via Hosur Circle, ACP Office Cross, North Traffic Police Station, Lakshmi Way Bridge, Shanbhag Circle, Girnichal Road, Girnichal Cross, MT Mill, Vani Vilas Circle, and back to Dharwad via Hosur Circle.

Other Vehicle Routes:

  • Vehicles from Gadag and the railway station should use KH Patil Road, DRM Cross, Desai Circle Under Bridge, Cotton Market, and Lakshmi Way Bridge to reach Hosur Cross.
  • Vehicles from Navalgund must take Sarvodaya Circle, Desai Circle Under Bridge, Cotton Market, and Lakshmi Way Bridge to access Hosur Cross.
  • Vehicles from Gokul Road and Dharwad should use Bhagat Singh Circle and Desai Under Bridge to connect to Navalgund or Gadag Road.

Temporary Facilities: To accommodate the diversions, temporary bus stations have been set up at Gadag Road Under Bridge, Sarvodaya Circle, Gabbur Circle, Hosur Bus Station, and Karwar Road Under Bridge for buses arriving from respective directions. Temporary parking is available at Nehru Maidan, MT Mill Ground, and Old Hubli KEB Grid for vehicles.

Post-Prayer Traffic Management

After the Eid prayers at the Old Hubli Eidgah Maidan, specific traffic controls will be enforced. Vehicles coming from Karwar Road and other roads towards Indi Pump will be temporarily halted and then released in a phased manner. Additionally, vehicles from smaller roads heading towards KC Circle will be stopped and redirected via alternative routes to prevent bottlenecks.
