Hyderabad Ferrari Crash Leaves Five Injured in Jubilee Hills Accident

A high-speed Ferrari owned by a city-based businessman crashed into multiple vehicles on Road No 45 in Jubilee Hills on Sunday morning, leaving five people injured. The accident, which occurred around 10:30 am, was allegedly caused by brake failure and steering malfunction.

Luxury Car Owner Booked for Rash Driving

Based on a complaint filed by one of the victims, Jubilee Hills police have registered a case against the luxury car owner, Kranthi Reddy (30), who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Reddy has been taken into custody and booked under Section 281 of the BNS for rash and negligent driving that endangered human lives.

"He was driving at high speed amid heavy traffic," said Srinivasulu Reddy, inspector of Jubilee Hills police. "Preliminary investigation indicates a mechanical malfunction, including brake and engine issues. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash."

Chain Collision Causes Multiple Injuries

According to police reports, Reddy lost control of the Ferrari and first rammed into an electric pole. The vehicle then veered to the opposite side of the road, hitting two cars coming from the other direction. The collision resulted in a chain reaction that damaged several other vehicles, including three two-wheelers.

The injured include:

  • Kranthi Reddy, the Ferrari driver
  • Reddy's wife, who was accompanying him
  • Three occupants of another car: Upasana Saxena, Priya Saxena, and Anil Saxena

All injured parties were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment, where their condition is reported to be stable. Reddy was reportedly on his way to attend a wedding when the accident occurred.

Traffic Disruption and Vehicle Details

The crash caused significant traffic disruption in the area, with police having to divert vehicles to ease congestion. "Traffic movement in the area was severely affected following the accident and remained disrupted for over an hour," the inspector explained. Normal flow was restored only after damaged vehicles and debris were cleared from the road.

The Ferrari involved in the accident was identified as a California T model bearing registration number TS07HK8797. The vehicle was registered with the Rangareddy RTA in November 2017 and sustained substantial front-end damage in the collision.

Police continue their investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident, focusing on both mechanical factors and driver behavior during the incident on this busy Hyderabad road.
