Hyderabad: Gig Workers Launch Brutal Attack on Security Guards in Moosapet Gated Community
A disturbing incident of violence unfolded in the Moosapet area of Kukatpally, Hyderabad, where a group of gig workers allegedly launched a brutal assault on security guards of a prominent gated community. The confrontation stemmed from a routine security protocol that escalated into a full-blown physical attack, leaving one guard with serious injuries.
Security Protocol Sparks Violent Confrontation
According to the Kukatpally police, the incident began when one of the security guards stopped a delivery boy named Wasim at the gate of the residential complex as part of standard security measures. This routine check led to a heated argument between Wasim and the guard. After the disagreement, the guard permitted Wasim to enter the premises to deliver a parcel, following which the delivery boy left the area.
Group Returns for Vicious Assault
However, the situation took a violent turn a few hours later when Wasim returned to the gated community, accompanied by a group of other gig workers. The group proceeded to attack the security guards ruthlessly, despite attempts by onlookers to intervene and diffuse the escalating tension. The entire assault was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the location, providing clear evidence of the brutality.
Injuries and Police Action
During the attack, one of the security guards suffered bleeding injuries and had to be shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. In response to the incident, the security manager of the gated community filed a formal complaint with the Kukatpally police. Based on this complaint, the police have registered a criminal case against Wasim and the other individuals involved in the assault. As of now, the authorities are yet to make any arrests in connection with the case.
