Hyderabad Tiles Store Manager Accused of Orchestrating Gold Theft from Employer's Daughter
In a shocking case from Hyderabad, the Chaitanyapuri police have registered a formal case against the manager of a tiles store. The manager is accused of allegedly manipulating his employer's daughter into stealing a substantial amount of gold jewellery from her own family home and handing it over to him.
Complaint and Initial Investigation
The incident came to light on April 17, when a 48-year-old businessman residing in Kothapet filed an official police complaint. He reported that approximately 100 tolas of gold jewellery had been stolen from his residence. Following this complaint, the police promptly registered a theft case and initiated a thorough investigation.
During the initial phase of the investigation, law enforcement officials meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity of the businessman's house. They also conducted interviews with various workers and individuals who had regular access to the premises. This investigative process led them to a significant discovery.
Key Suspect and Connection Uncovered
The police identified Sagar, a 34-year-old man who served as the manager of the complainant's business, as a person of interest. Investigators found that Sagar was in frequent and suspicious contact with the businessman's 20-year-old daughter, who is currently pursuing an MBA degree.
Authorities proceeded to question both Sagar and the young woman separately. During these intensive interrogation sessions, the daughter made a startling confession that shed light on the entire scheme.
Daughter's Confession and Alleged Motive
The MBA student confessed to the police that she had indeed taken the gold jewellery from her family home and given it to Sagar. She explained that Sagar had told her he was suffering from a serious medical condition—a brain tumour—and needed financial assistance for his treatment.
"Sagar told her that he was suffering from a brain tumour. Believing him, she took gold from the house without informing her parents and handed it over to Sagar for treatment," stated Chaitanyapuri Inspector K Saidulu, detailing the daughter's account of events.
Police Recovery Efforts and Ongoing Investigation
Further investigation revealed that Sagar, who is married and has a child, had already sold a significant portion of the stolen jewellery. The police are now actively working to recover the remaining items and trace the proceeds from the sale.
"We have issued a notice to Sagar for questioning. Some gold and cash were recovered from him, and we are trying to recover the remaining amount. We are also trying to ascertain if he really has a brain tumour," Inspector Saidulu added, highlighting the dual focus of their ongoing investigation.
The case continues to develop as authorities work to verify Sagar's medical claims and locate all missing assets. This incident serves as a cautionary tale about trust and manipulation in professional and personal relationships.
