Hyderabad Police Case Over Social Media Fight Club Ad

The Malkajgiri Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad have registered a case against unknown individuals for allegedly attempting to organize a fighting event through advertisements circulated on social media platforms. Acting on a social media post, the police filed a suo motu case.

Social Media Reels Spark Concern

The social media team of Malkajgiri Police discovered reels uploaded on various handles that depicted dangerous physical fights between individuals. According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered on Saturday, these reels posed a serious risk to human life and potentially encouraged violence among the youth.

Event Details and Promotion

The reels were promoted under the title 'Season One – Series Two' with the tagline 'No Rules, Just Fists'. The organizers claimed the event was scheduled for Sunday at Saroornagar. In a message shared via a handle named Purvi, the organizer said, 'Namaste, boxers. I am again organizing a fight club on June 14. Last time, we could not give everyone a chance to participate. This time, we want to provide everyone with an opportunity to enter the ring. People who have a passion for boxing can experience it. Girls, it is you who need combat abilities; you should come and show your power.' A participation fee of ₹349 was fixed.

Police Response

Upon discovering the posts, the cybercrime police immediately alerted the local Saroornagar Police to trace the organizer and prevent the event. After verification, local police informed that the organizers had sought permission for 300 people in the cellar of a property near Saroornagar Metro Station on Friday, but the request was rejected. They also found that a previous case had been registered against the organizers by Chaitanyapuri Police for a similar event. On Sunday, police followed up with the organizers to ensure the event was not held, as several individuals had shown interest.
