A 28-year-old man from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh had rented part of their house and subsequently developed a relationship with her. The couple married on July 28, 2025, at the Kukatpally sub-registrar's office. On the same day, they moved into rented accommodation in Begumpet.

On the wedding night, the husband allegedly invited five friends to the house under the pretext of a celebration. The complainant states that the group consumed alcohol and forced her to drink as well. While she was unconscious, her husband and his friends sexually assaulted her.
