A powerful improvised explosive device (IED) ripped through railway tracks in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Tuesday, creating a major security scare in the northeastern region. The explosion occurred near the Basugaon area, causing significant damage to the railway infrastructure and prompting immediate response from security forces.
The incident took place around 8:30 PM near Basugaon railway station, sending shockwaves through the nearby areas. According to preliminary reports, the explosion was powerful enough to damage several feet of railway tracks, potentially disrupting train services in the region.
