Hazaribag: IG of Bokaro range, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, on Friday reviewed police’s preparedness ahead of Muharram and assessed progress on pending cases at a meeting in the office of Hazaribag SP, Aman Kumar.
Review of Police Work
The review covered disposal of pending cases, public-friendly policing, NDPS cases, organised crime, SC/ST-related cases and missing persons’ complaints. The IG directed officers to map locations linked to illegal narcotics trade and conduct special drives, ensuring arrests of those involved in drug offences.
Muharram Security Measures
For Muharram, officers were instructed to stay alert, maintain order and immediately report sensitive inputs to seniors.
Action Against Crime
He asked officers to prepare proposals for action under the Crime Control Act, station attendance provisions and criminal registers against organised crime groups, illegal mining operators and elements disturbing communal harmony.
Missing Persons Cases
On missing person cases, he ordered early disposal. DSPs and SDPOs were told to personally inspect crime scenes in murder, crimes against women and other serious offences, and monitor investigations.
Public-Friendly Policing
“People visiting police stations must be treated with respect, their grievances heard properly and lawful action taken,” the IG said.
