Indian Arrested in Nepal with Brown Sugar

An Indian national was taken into custody in Nepal's Lumbini Province on Monday after police allegedly discovered narcotic drugs concealed inside his undergarments, according to Nepal Police.

Arrest Details

The arrested individual was identified as Mohmad Rijwan, a 40-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh, India. He was detained during a security check in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, police said in a statement cited by PTI.

According to the statement, law enforcement officers recovered "63.5 grams of narcotic drug brown sugar concealed in a packet inside his undergarments."

Seizure of Vehicle

Police also seized the motorcycle that Rijwan was riding at the time of the arrest, the statement added.

Authorities have taken the Indian national into custody and launched a further investigation into the case. Police did not immediately provide additional details on the source or intended destination of the narcotics.

Separate Incident: Marijuana Recovery

In a separate incident, Nepal Police reported recovering 104 kilograms of marijuana from a jeep involved in an accident in the country's Koshi Province.

According to police, the driver fled the scene before officers arrived. Authorities recovered the contraband from the vehicle and have begun efforts to trace the driver and investigate the circumstances surrounding the transport of the marijuana.
