Indian-Origin Man Stabbed in London's Southall

An Indian-origin man was stabbed to death in London's Southall, the Metropolitan Police said on Saturday. The victim, identified as Gurbhej Singh, was killed on North Road, near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane, while another man in his 30s was injured, reported PTI.

Emergency Response and Victim Identification

Emergency services were alerted by the London Ambulance Service, and officers arrived at the scene alongside paramedics. Despite efforts to save him, Singh, who had suffered a knife injury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Appeal for Information

“Homicide detectives continue to investigate Mr Singh’s tragic death and my thoughts remain with his family and loved ones,” said detective chief inspector Alison Foxwell, from the Met Police’s Specialist Crime Command.

“We believe he was assaulted outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Well Lane at around 00:30hrs (Wednesday).

“I would urge anyone with CCTV covering the area – or who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police – to please come forward and speak to police,” she said.

Arrests and Releases in the Investigation

As part of the investigation, seven men aged between their early 20s and late 30s were arrested on suspicion of murder. However, after further enquiries, six were released without charge, while the seventh was released on bail pending further investigation.

Support for the Victim's Family

In the meantime, specialist officers are continuing to support Singh's family as detectives pursue leads in the case.
