Major Fires Engulf Indore Factory and Warehouse, No Casualties Reported
Indore witnessed two significant fire incidents in quick succession late on Tuesday night, with blazes breaking out at an industrial unit and a storage facility. Fortunately, authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in either case, though substantial damage occurred to property and materials.
Factory Fire in Bicholi Hapsi Area
The first fire erupted at a cattle feed manufacturing plant located near Devguradia in the Bicholi Hapsi region of Indore. The factory, owned and operated by businessman Vinit Agrawal, caught fire around 11:30 PM, sending flames and thick smoke into the night sky.
Fire department officials reported that the blaze spread with alarming speed due to the presence of highly combustible materials stored inside the facility. The unit contained numerous sacks of feed along with various chemicals, which acted as accelerants once the fire took hold.
Emergency services responded promptly, dispatching two fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters battled the intense flames for nearly two hours before finally bringing the situation under control. In their efforts to extinguish the fire, they utilized approximately 47,000 liters of water, with additional assistance coming from local residents who helped contain the spread.
Warehouse Blaze in Lasudia Area
In a separate incident occurring shortly after midnight, a scrap warehouse situated near SR Compound in the Lasudia area of Indore also caught fire. The blaze was first noticed by passersby who observed smoke billowing from the premises and immediately alerted police and fire authorities.
Firefighting teams arrived swiftly at the location and managed to contain the warehouse fire using nearly 25,000 liters of water. The rapid response prevented the flames from spreading to adjacent structures and potentially causing more extensive damage.
Investigation and Response
Authorities from the fire department have confirmed that no injuries or loss of life occurred in either incident, which they described as fortunate given the intensity of both blazes. The combined firefighting efforts required over 70,000 liters of water to fully extinguish the two fires.
Fire officials have initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact causes behind both incidents. Preliminary assessments suggest that electrical faults or human error might be contributing factors, though definitive conclusions await the completion of forensic examinations.
