Indore: In a major crackdown on criminals and anti-social elements, the Indore police launched a special combing and checking operation across the city, taking action against 736 individuals. The operation was conducted between the night of June 13 and the early hours of June 14.
Operation Details
The drive was carried out across all police station limits with the aim of curbing crime and maintaining law and order. Senior officials led teams that conducted surprise checks, combing operations, and surveillance activities. During the operation, police verified 1,458 suspects and offenders, initiating legal action against 736 of them.
Warrants and Summons Served
More than 326 warrants were served, including 125 permanent warrants, 88 arrest warrants, and 113 bailable warrants. Additionally, 138 summons were issued.
Drunk Driving and Narcotics Action
Police also cracked down on drunk driving, checking 205 motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol. Of these, 185 cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles Act. Seven cases were registered under the NDPS Act against individuals consuming narcotic substances, while 43 cases were lodged against people consuming alcohol in public places.
Illegal Weapons and Drone Patrols
As part of the drive against illegal weapons, police arrested six accused from different police station areas. To strengthen surveillance, drone patrols were deployed in identified hotspot and shadow areas. During the operation, officers checked more than 722 known offenders.
Community Engagement and Awareness
Beyond enforcement, police officials interacted with residents during area visits and conducted awareness campaigns on cybercrime, crimes against women, the harmful effects of substance abuse, and road safety. Officials stated that sustained action against anti-social elements and law violators will continue in the coming days as part of the commissionerate’s strategy to maintain public safety and strengthen law enforcement across the city.
