Indore Police Bust Inter-State Robbery Gang

Indore: Bhanwarkuan police on Monday busted a five-member inter-state robbery gang, thwarting a planned heist targeting an alleged hawala trader. Acting on a tip-off, a special patrolling team surrounded a Delhi-registered car at an open ground in Himmat Nagar, Palda. The police allegedly overheard the suspects inside the vehicle planning to stage an accident to intercept a trader allegedly carrying substantial hawala cash, with intentions to blind the driver using chili powder.

The team arrested five people: 33-year-old Kuldeep Pal, 25-year-old Nazim Qureshi, 40-year-old Mahfooz, 27-year-old Shoaib Qureshi and 33-year-old Mohammad Shakeel. All the accused are residents of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Investigation revealed that the suspects have prior criminal records.

“During interrogation, the gang confessed to traveling from Meerut specifically to execute robberies. They admitted to staging a similar accident near Teen Imli bus stand a week ago to rob a motorist, alongside executing a snatching near the Choithram vegetable market in Rajendra Nagar,” Bhanwarkuan police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi said.
