In a major crackdown on illegal liquor transportation, the Indore Police have successfully seized 340 cartons of beer that were allegedly being smuggled in a truck and an SUV. The operation, conducted by the Kanadia police station, led to the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation of 4,080 litres of illegal beer, valued at approximately Rs 74.24 lakh.
Operation Details
Acting on a tip-off regarding the illicit movement of alcohol, a team led by Kanadia police station in-charge Inspector Saharsh Yadav set up a blockade. During the interception, the police stopped the suspicious vehicles and apprehended the accused. Those arrested include 22-year-old Ravi Bahediya and 25-year-old Jagdish Chauhan, both residents of Alirajpur district, along with 36-year-old Rahul God, a resident of Indore, and 27-year-old Dharmendra Akhade, a resident of Nanpur in Alirajpur district.
Legal Proceedings
According to police officials, the accused were allegedly transporting the beer illegally. The seized liquor, along with the vehicles used in the crime, have been taken into custody. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the law, and further investigations are underway to uncover the broader network involved in the smuggling operation.
