Indore Police Conducts Dramatic Raid to Arrest Inter-State MD Drug Supplier in Rajasthan

In a high-stakes operation, the Indore crime branch successfully extracted a major inter-state MD (mephedrone) drug supplier from his hideout in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. The dramatic arrest unfolded on Monday as police personnel physically carried Wasim Khan from his residence, overcoming significant resistance from his family members and local residents.

Planned Operation Targets Key Drug Network Figure

The extraction followed a meticulously planned operation targeting Wasim Khan, who had been hiding in Pratapgarh since the arrest of other members from the same drug network. Police had previously arrested four individuals—Rizwan Khokar, Faizan Mansoori, Sameer Lakara, and Kajal Upadhyay—on Sunday, seizing 24.08 grams of MD drug valued at approximately Rs 2.40 lakh.

During interrogation of these suspects, Wasim Khan emerged as a crucial link in the drug supply chain. Investigators determined that Khan allegedly procured the contraband from other states and supplied it to peddlers operating in Indore, making his capture essential to dismantling the network.

Resistance and Dramatic Capture Caught on Video

Acting on specific intelligence, the crime branch tracked Khan to his native area in Pratapgarh on Monday. When officers moved in to apprehend him, Khan attempted to flee during the raid and sustained an injury to his hand in the process.

As police took him into custody, his family members and local residents attempted to obstruct the team, creating a tense standoff. Officers held their ground against the resistance, with four personnel physically carrying Khan—two holding his hands and two his legs—to a waiting police vehicle while being followed by protesting family and locals.

A video of the dramatic operation subsequently surfaced on social media, capturing the intense moments of the extraction. Khan was transported to Indore on Tuesday following his apprehension.

Criminal History and Legal Proceedings

Additional DCP crime branch Rajesh Dandotiya revealed that despite working as a daily wage laborer, Wasim Khan has an extensive criminal history. Approximately two dozen cases have been registered against him across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, including two previous cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Indore.

Police have registered a fresh case against Khan under Sections 8 and 22 of the NDPS Act at the crime branch police station. These sections pertain to prohibition of certain operations and punishment for contraventions involving manufactured drugs and preparations.

The successful operation represents a significant breakthrough in combating inter-state drug trafficking networks operating in the region, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to pursuing key suppliers regardless of jurisdictional boundaries.
