Interstate thieves arrested, ₹32L jewellery seized in Karnataka

In a significant breakthrough, Karnataka police have dismantled an interstate theft ring operating across state borders, resulting in the arrest of two seasoned criminals and the recovery of stolen property valued at a staggering ₹32 lakh.

The Dramatic Arrest

Acting on a crucial tip-off, the Hubballi police crime branch launched an intensive operation that culminated in the apprehension of two suspects from Maharashtra. The arrested individuals have been identified as Raju alias Rajendra Shankar Pujari (35) and Sadanand Dada Patil (28), both residents of Kolhapur.

Massive Haul Recovered

The police operation yielded an impressive recovery of stolen assets, including:

  • Gold jewellery weighing approximately 750 grams
  • Silver articles totaling 1.5 kg
  • Cash amounting to ₹1.5 lakh
  • A motorcycle used in criminal activities
  • Various house-breaking tools and equipment

Modus Operandi Revealed

According to police investigations, the accused operated with sophisticated planning. "The suspects would conduct thorough reconnaissance of target locations during daytime, identifying vulnerable households before striking under cover of darkness," revealed a senior police official.

Their criminal activities spanned multiple jurisdictions, with confirmed cases registered against them in Hubballi's Gokul Road police station and additional complaints emerging from other areas.

Police Investigation Breakthrough

The case took a decisive turn when authorities began tracking suspects involved in a series of residential thefts. Through meticulous investigation and technological surveillance, police zeroed in on the interstate connection, leading to the successful interception and arrest of the accused parties.

"This operation demonstrates our commitment to combating interstate crime networks," stated Hubballi Police Commissioner. "We're intensifying efforts to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in these criminal activities."

Ongoing Investigations

Police authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains active, with efforts underway to identify additional accomplices and recover more stolen property. The arrested individuals have been remanded to police custody for further questioning.

This successful operation serves as a strong warning to criminal elements operating across state borders, while providing relief to victims of the theft spree.
