Iron girder collapse kills labourer, injures three in Pilibhit

A tragic accident occurred in the Bisalpur municipal council area of Pilibhit district on Tuesday, where a 62-year-old labourer lost his life and three others sustained critical injuries after an iron girder collapsed while they were removing shutters at an under-construction house.

Details of the Incident

Four labourers were engaged in removing the shuttering from a lintel 16 days after it was cast when an iron girder accidentally fell, trapping them beneath the debris. The incident prompted an immediate response from police and local residents, who launched a rescue operation and successfully pulled the workers out from under the rubble.

Casualties and Injuries

Ram Chandra Lal, the labourer who was trapped beneath the girder, was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The three injured labourers have been identified as Virendra Kumar, 50, Brajpal, 43, and Budhsen, 35. According to Bisalpur Kotwali SHO Sanjiv Shukla, the injured workers received preliminary treatment at the scene and were later referred to the Autonomous State Medical College in Pilibhit due to their critical condition.
