Jaisalmer: A man suspected of spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was detained Thursday from the Khariya border area near Hingolo Ki Dhani village under the Nachna police station limits in Jaisalmer district. The operation was carried out by a joint team of the Technical Cell of the State Special Branch, Jaipur, and the local Border Intelligence Police. The suspect is alleged to have shared sensitive strategic information linked to India's security.
Suspect Identified as Mustaq Ali
According to official sources, the detained individual has been identified as Mustaq Ali (27), son of Nabibaksha and a resident of Hingolo Ki Dhani in Nachna tehsil. Sources said he had been under surveillance for nearly two years on suspicion of transmitting sensitive information related to the Indian Army, Air Force and other security agencies to the ISI through phone calls and social media platforms.
Joint Operation and Interrogation
The joint team detained him at night following intelligence inputs regarding his alleged activities. Investigators have also reportedly found deposits in his bank account that are suspected to be payments received in exchange for espionage-related activities. The suspect is currently being questioned and is expected to be jointly interrogated by security and intelligence agencies at the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Jaisalmer on Friday.
Officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the alleged information-sharing network and any possible links with foreign intelligence operatives.
