ITBP Constable Dies in Tragic Uttarakhand Accident

A young Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawan lost his life in a devastating road accident on Friday evening. The incident occurred near Sitarganj in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district.

Fatal Collision with Mining Vehicle

Constable Triloki Kumar, aged 30, was riding his motorcycle with his father Om Prakash as pillion. They were returning home to Kailashpuri from Chandeli in Khatima when tragedy struck.

A heavily loaded mining dumper traveling at high speed rammed into their motorcycle near Baghora Baghauri. The impact proved fatal for Kumar, who died instantly at the scene.

Family Devastated by Loss

Kumar, who was posted in Leh-Ladakh, had been visiting his family during leave. His father sustained serious injuries in the crash and is currently receiving treatment at the local sub-district hospital.

The young constable served as the sole bread-winner for his family. He leaves behind a grieving wife, a young son, and a daughter who now face an uncertain future without their primary provider.

Driver Flees, Investigation Underway

Police officials confirmed that the dumper driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the accident site immediately after the collision. Authorities have launched a search for the driver while continuing their investigation.

"Prima facie evidence suggests the dumper was being driven at dangerously high speed," stated a police official involved in the case. "We have sent the body for post-mortem examination and our investigation continues."

Longstanding Safety Concerns

This tragic incident has reignited concerns about mining vehicle operations in the Sitarganj region. Local residents have repeatedly raised alarms about overloaded dumpers and reckless driving practices that endanger public safety.

Community members allege that despite numerous warnings and complaints, authorities have failed to implement effective measures to control these hazardous vehicles. The accident highlights what many describe as systemic negligence regarding mining transport regulations in the area.

Family Yet to File Formal Complaint

Police sources indicate that Kumar's family has not yet filed an official complaint regarding the accident. The grieving relatives are currently focused on funeral arrangements and caring for the injured father.

The ITBP constable's untimely death serves as a stark reminder of road safety challenges in regions with heavy mining activity. It underscores the urgent need for stricter enforcement of vehicle regulations and speed limits to prevent similar tragedies.
