A late-night hit-and-run incident in Jaipur left three individuals, including a husband and wife, injured after a speeding Mahindra Thar jeep collided with their motorcycle. The accident occurred on Friday night around 9:30 PM in the area under the Accident Police Station West jurisdiction.
Details of the Nivaru Road Collision
According to police reports, the victims were identified as Pawan Kumar (33), his wife Sakshi (30), and their relative Urvashi (26). All three are residents of Jhotwara. Pawan was riding his motorcycle towards home with Sakshi and Urvashi pillion riding when the tragedy struck near the Bank of Baroda on Nivaru Road.
A Thar jeep, coming from the opposite direction at a high speed, suddenly cut across the motorcycle's path. The jeep brushed against the two-wheeler, causing it to lose balance violently. The impact threw all three riders onto the road along with the motorcycle.
Driver's Escape and Police Response
In a callous act, the driver of the Thar did not stop to help the injured. Instead, the vehicle fled the scene immediately, leaving the victims lying on the roadway. Alert local residents quickly gathered at the spot and informed the police.
Personnel from Accident Police Station West reached the location promptly. With assistance from locals, they shifted the three injured persons to a nearby private hospital for urgent medical attention. Officials have stated that their condition is now stable.
Investigation and Search for the Accused
Law enforcement has launched an investigation into the hit-and-run case. Officers have examined CCTV footage from the accident site, which clearly shows the Thar jeep speeding away after the collision.
"Efforts are on to trace the vehicle and identify the driver," stated a police officer involved in the case. The search is ongoing to apprehend the accused who remains at large.
