In a significant pre-emptive operation, the Jaipur police successfully prevented a violent gang war in the eastern parts of the city. Acting on precise intelligence, a team from the Ramnagariya police station arrested six heavily armed men who had gathered to launch a retaliatory attack in an ongoing territorial feud.
Major Haul of Weapons and Ammunition
The police intervention led to the seizure of a substantial cache of arms from the spot. The recovered items include three country-made pistols, one firearm, 29 live cartridges, two empty magazines, and a black car. Officials confirmed that the armed group had assembled late on Sunday night with the clear intention of targeting their rivals. The police team moved in swiftly, surrounding the location and detaining all suspects before any violence could erupt.
Intelligence and Background of the Turf War
The crucial operation was launched based on specific information provided by DST constables Rajesh and Neeraj. During questioning, the police uncovered that the planned confrontation was the result of a simmering rivalry between two groups vying for territorial dominance across several areas including Ramnagariya, Pratap Nagar, Khoh Nagoriyan, Kanota, Bassi, and Shivdaspura.
Investigators revealed that one faction is allegedly led by a local youth who operates a cricket ground in the Sitapura area. This group was locked in a dispute with another faction led by a resident of Mendla village. The tension reached a boiling point on December 2 when an associate of one group was allegedly assaulted. This incident prompted the plans for a large-scale retaliation, leading to the armed gathering that was foiled by the police.
Identities of the Arrested and Ongoing Probe
The six individuals taken into custody have been identified as:
- Khalid Khan (24), a resident of Manoharpura Kachchi Basti in Jagatpura
- Mahendra Singh Gurjar alias Mahi Gurjar (22) of Bamanwas, Sawai Madhopur
- Girdhari Mirota (27) of Lalsot, Dausa
- Ravi Gurjar (20) of Shishyawas, Ramnagariya
- Hanif Mev (23) of Nuh, Haryana, currently residing in Sitapura
- Nitin Ghiya (23) of Model Town Colony, Jamdoli
Police disclosed that Mahendra Singh Gurjar is also wanted in a kidnapping case previously registered in Lalsot. All six accused are currently under intensive interrogation. The police are focusing on uncovering the source of the procured weapons and mapping the wider network behind the ongoing feud to prevent future incidents.
The successful operation by the Ramnagariya police has averted a potential bloodbath and restored a sense of security in the eastern localities of Jaipur. The force continues its vigilance in the region.
