In a significant breakthrough, the Jaipur City Police on Wednesday successfully arrested a notorious history-sheeter and his associate, both of whom were carrying cash rewards of Rs 10,000 each. The arrests are connected to a firing incident that occurred on January 19 in the Gangapol area under the jurisdiction of the Brahmpuri police station, where a young man was shot in the leg.

Fugitives Captured After Over Two Weeks on the Run

According to police officials, the two accused had been absconding for more than two weeks following the violent episode. The authorities identified the primary suspect as Ravi Mehra, a 25-year-old resident of Gangapol, and his associate as Rahul. Mehra is described as a hardened criminal with an extensive record, having 15 cases registered against him at the Brahmpuri police station and an additional 11 cases at the Subhash Chowk police station, all involving serious offences.

Dramatic Nighttime Operation Leads to Arrests

DCP (north) Karan Sharma provided details of the operation, stating that police teams meticulously traced the location of the fugitives and cordoned off the area late at night. As the police closed in, the duo attempted to flee, leading to a brief but intense confrontation. During the escape attempt, Mehra sustained a fracture in his leg, while Rahul also suffered injuries.
