Jaipur Police Commissioner Leads Public Hearing, Announces New Community Initiative

In a significant move to bolster public engagement, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal presided over a public hearing program on Saturday at the ACP Jhotwara office. The event saw nearly 100 citizens from various police station areas present their grievances directly to the city's top police officials.

High-Level Police Presence at the Hearing

The hearing, organized under the Jaipur Commissionerate, was attended by a cadre of senior police officers, ensuring a comprehensive response to public concerns. Key attendees included:

  • Special Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash
  • Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Manish Agrawal
  • Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hanuman Prasad
  • Additional DCP (West) Rajesh Kumar Gupta
  • Assistant Police Commissioner (Jhotwara) Alok Kumar

Station house officers from Jhotwara, Kardhani, Murlipura, Kalwar, and Khorabisal police stations were also present, alongside approximately 50 members of the Community Liaison Group (CLG). This high-level participation underscored the police department's commitment to addressing community issues promptly and lawfully.

Direct Action on Citizen Complaints

Commissioner Mittal personally listened to the complaints and issued immediate directions to the ACP (Jhotwara) and concerned station house officers for timely and lawful disposal. The program aimed to streamline grievance redressal and reinforce the principles of community policing across Jaipur.

Launch of Beat Information Board Initiative

During the event, Commissioner Mittal unveiled a groundbreaking Beat Information Board initiative. Under this program, around 1,000 beat information boards will be installed across various beats in the city. These boards will display essential details of the respective beat officers, enabling residents to contact them directly when needed.

Police officials emphasized that this initiative is designed to:

  1. Strengthen police-public coordination by fostering direct communication.
  2. Improve accessibility to law enforcement at the grassroots level.
  3. Enhance accountability among officers through increased visibility and public oversight.

Commitment to Regular Public Engagement

The Jaipur Police have announced plans to organize such public hearing programs on a regular basis. This ongoing effort is intended to ensure swift redressal of public complaints and to solidify community policing efforts throughout the city. By maintaining open channels of communication, the police aim to build trust and cooperation with residents, ultimately contributing to a safer and more responsive urban environment.
