In a significant breakthrough, the Jaunpur police have successfully dismantled an inter-district 'poisoning' gang that was involved in drugging unsuspecting passengers and looting their valuables. The operation led to the arrest of three wanted criminals, with crucial assistance from a digital policing tool known as the Yaksh App.

During a routine checking drive near Chiraiya Mod on the Bilar Mau road, the police apprehended the accused individuals. - Hanuman Nishad, a notorious criminal with a staggering 37 criminal cases registered against him, including similar offences.
- Ankit Nishad, his son, who has 33 criminal cases to his name.
- Akash alias Gulshan Yadav, with 10 cases registered against him.
Police also established that Hanuman Nishad, the father, had a long and notorious record of similar criminal activities, further complicating the gang's operations.

- A country-made pistol (.315 bore) with a live cartridge.
- 198 grams of intoxicating powder.
- 55 sedative tablets.
