Jhajjar Murder Case Takes Gangster Twist as Godara Gang Claims Responsibility
The murder of 26-year-old financier Sahil Ahlawat in Jhajjar has taken a dramatic new turn after an alleged social media post surfaced online, purportedly from gangster Rohit Godara's gang, claiming responsibility for the killing. Police authorities have stated that the authenticity of this post is currently under verification and is being examined as a critical component of the ongoing investigation.
Details of the Fatal Attack
According to police sources, three assailants arrived at the scene in a vehicle, opened fire at the gate, and then forcibly entered the premises. Ahlawat attempted to flee but was pursued and shot multiple times at close range, resulting in his immediate death at the spot. Investigators have confirmed that the entire attack was captured on CCTV footage, strongly indicating that it was a premeditated act.
Social Media Claims and Allegations
In the viral message, the gang allegedly asserted that it orchestrated the killing, accusing Ahlawat of charging exorbitant interest rates from borrowers and seizing properties in cases of loan defaults. The post further claimed that Ahlawat had been warned approximately six months prior to cease such activities, adding a layer of alleged financial misconduct to the motive behind the murder.
Family's Anguish and Allegations
The victim's father, Nar Singh alias Kukku Pradhan, has described the murder as a well-planned conspiracy and has implicated certain villagers, relatives, and possible police inaction in the case. He revealed that prior threats had been reported earlier, highlighting concerns over safety and justice. At PGI Rohtak and later at the family's home in Dighal village, scenes of profound grief unfolded as relatives gathered around the body.
Babita, the victim's mother, repeatedly broke down, demanding swift arrests and strict punishment for those responsible. Tension escalated before the cremation, with the victim's father initially refusing to proceed with the last rites until the accused were apprehended. Family members, relatives, and village elders were seen consoling him and persuading him to move forward, leading to the cremation being carried out on Thursday afternoon amid a heavy turnout of nearly 1,500 people, predominantly youths, in the funeral procession.
Police Investigation and Security Measures
Police disclosed that Ahlawat had three to four criminal cases registered against him, including assault-related offences, and investigators are examining whether any past disputes could have contributed to the motive. Security has been significantly tightened in and around Dighal village, with checkpoints established on key approach roads to prevent further incidents.
A case has been registered under murder and Arms Act provisions, with multiple police teams formed to trace the accused. Investigators are probing the case from various angles, including potential gang involvement, financial rivalry, and personal enmity, to uncover the full truth behind this tragic event.
