Jhansi Man Fatally Shot by Motorbike-Borne Assailants in Mauranipur Area
In a shocking incident in Jhansi district, a 38-year-old man was shot at close range by two unknown assailants on a motorbike while he was driving his two-wheeler on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Satish Srivas, succumbed to his injuries around midnight during treatment at Jhansi Medical College, where he was referred in critical condition.
Details of the Attack and Police Response
The incident occurred near Damele Chowk in the Mauranipur area. According to police reports, Satish Srivas, a resident of Nai Basti, was approached by two individuals on a motorbike. The pillion rider fired at him at close range before fleeing the scene. Satish fell to the ground and was rushed to the community health centre by police after being alerted. SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy personally visited the site to assess the situation and coordinate the investigation.
Police have revealed that the victim had several criminal cases lodged against him and was recently out of jail on bail. His mother served as a former corporator of the area, adding a political dimension to the case. Three special teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the accused, who remain at large. Initial discussions with family members suggest the murder resulted from personal issues, though investigations are ongoing.

An FIR was initially lodged at Mauranipur police station against unknown persons on charges of attempt to murder. Police have confirmed that charges of murder will be included as the investigation progresses.
