Jhansi Teenager Dies by Suicide Following Alleged Molestation Incident
A tragic incident unfolded in Jhansi, where a 16-year-old girl ended her life on Thursday, just one day after she was allegedly molested by a 22-year-old man. The victim, a student in class IX, was alone at her home on Wednesday afternoon while her mother attended a wedding and her aunt worked on the farms. According to reports, her neighbor forcibly entered the house and molested her.
Alarm Raised and Police Complaint Filed
The girl's younger brother, who was playing outside, heard the commotion and rushed inside, raising an alarm. This prompted the accused to flee the scene. Later that evening, a formal complaint was lodged at the Moth police station based on the victim's account of the incident.
Suicide and Police Response
On Thursday afternoon, the girl, who had reportedly fallen into a deep depression, consumed a poisonous substance and tragically died. CO Moth Ajay Shrotiya addressed the case, noting that during the initial complaint, the girl's age was not disclosed, which led to the omission of Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) sections from the charges. "Unfortunately, the girl has died by suicide. We have arrested the accused, and further investigations are underway. Based on that, we will include further sections," he stated.

Police have confirmed the arrest of the accused and are actively pursuing the investigation to determine all relevant facts.
