Jharkhand Police Bolsters Security with Over 10,000 Personnel for Eid and Sarhul Festivities
In a significant move to ensure peace and order during the upcoming Eid and Sarhul festivals, the Jharkhand State Police Headquarters has deployed an additional 10,400 security personnel across various districts. This proactive measure aims to prevent any untoward incidents and facilitate smooth celebrations on Saturday.
Enhanced Security in Sensitive Districts
According to police officials, sensitive districts including Ranchi, Hazaribag, and Giridih have received a substantial reinforcement of security forces. Inspector General (Operation) and Jharkhand Police spokesman Michael Raj detailed the deployment, stating, "The districts have been provided with 5,000 policemen and 5,400 home guards. They have been instructed to take all necessary actions to maintain law and order during the festivities."
Comprehensive Administrative Preparations
The Ranchi district administration is fully prepared to monitor worship places during Eid namaaz and ensure the seamless movement of Sarhul processions and traffic. On Friday, a flag march was conducted by Ranchi Sub-Divisional Officer Kumar Rajat, along with Superintendents of Police Paras Rana, Praveen Pushkar, and Rakesh Singh, along with police forces on main roads and other city areas. This demonstration was intended to signal the administration's readiness to uphold peace.
Structured Patrol and Control Systems
To enhance vigilance, the district administration has implemented a structured patrol system. This includes:
- 25 patrolling parties led by magistrates and police officers.
- Five bike teams to monitor different parts of the city.
- A senior officer overseeing the composite control room in the city, with several reserve officers on standby.
- A sub-control room operated by the Bundu Sub-Divisional Officer in his area.
Block Development Officers, Circle Officers, and Police Station In-Charges have been assigned responsibility for law and order in their respective jurisdictions.
Zonal Division and Emergency Measures
The city area has been strategically divided into four zones, each under the charge of a magistrate and a Deputy Superintendent of Police rank officer. Additionally, emergency preparedness measures include:
- Fire extinguisher vehicles stationed at key locations such as the district control room, Nagri Bazaar, Hurhuri, Itki Bazaar, Ekra Masjid, Darji Mohallah, Kathitand Chowk, Badagi More, Kanke Chowk, Kanta Toli Chowk, and Albert Ekka Chowk.
- Medical teams and ambulances deployed at multiple points across the city to handle any emergencies.
These comprehensive arrangements underscore the administration's commitment to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for all residents during the festive period.
