Jharkhand Mobile Thief Arrested in Prayagraj with 45 Stolen Phones

In a significant breakthrough, the Naini police in Prayagraj arrested a notorious mobile lifter identified as Monu Kumar, a resident of Teen Pahar village in Jharkhand, on Monday. The police seized 45 android phones worth lakhs of rupees from his possession. However, two of his accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

Details of the Arrest

According to police officials, Monu Kumar has been booked under Section 317 (2) and 317 (5) of the BNS. During interrogation, he confessed that he and his accomplices were actively operating at Prayagraj and other railway stations, targeting passengers and stealing their mobile phones.

The gang would then sell the stolen mobiles at nominal prices to unsuspecting buyers. Additionally, the gang members were skilled in online shopping through UPI IDs after unlocking the stolen phones, further defrauding the victims.
