Migrant Labourer from Jharkhand Found Murdered in Coimbatore Vacant Plot
In a tragic incident in Coimbatore, a guest worker from Jharkhand was discovered murdered in a vacant plot near Kaniyur on Sunday. The local police have swiftly taken action, detaining three suspects as part of an ongoing investigation into the case.
Victim Identified as Narayan Hembram
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Hembram, a 33-year-old man hailing from the West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. Hembram had been employed as a labourer at a private firm and was residing in Cheradpalayam, located near Kaniyur in the Karumathampatti area of Coimbatore.
Discovery of the Body and Initial Findings
The grim discovery was made when Murugesan, the village administrative officer (VAO), received a tip-off from a local councillor about a body lying in a vacant plot at Poolaikadu in Karumathampatti. Upon arriving at the scene, Murugesan found Hembram with severe cut injuries on his jaw and left hand, indicating a violent attack.
Murugesan immediately alerted the Karumathampatti police, who promptly recovered the body and initiated a thorough inquiry. Preliminary investigations have shed light on the events leading up to the murder.
Argument During Drinking Session Leads to Fatal Attack
According to police reports, Hembram had been drinking with his friend Jeyaram, aged 36, on Saturday night. During this session, an argument erupted between Hembram and a few unidentified men. Although the parties initially separated, authorities suspect that the men may have later followed Hembram and launched a brutal attack on him that same night.
Police Action and Suspects Detained
In response to the incident, the police have detained three individuals in connection with the murder. Among those detained is a minor who is in conflict with the law. The investigation is actively continuing as authorities work to uncover further details and motives behind the crime.
