Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of J&K Police Head Constable and Wife in Doda
A devastating road accident in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the tragic deaths of a head constable from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and his wife on Friday morning. The couple's two sons were also injured in the incident, which occurred when their vehicle lost control and plunged into a stream.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The family, hailing from Bani in Kathua district, was traveling to Bhaderwah in their SUV when the accident took place around 9 am near Basti village in the Bhaderwah area. According to official reports, the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a stream, leading to immediate fatalities.
Head Constable Zulfikar Ali, aged 47, who was posted with the Bhaderwah District Special Branch, and his wife, Rehana Begum, aged 42, died on the spot at the scene of the accident. The swift response from local authorities saw police and medical teams from the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Bhaderwah rushing to the location to provide assistance.
Injured Sons Receiving Medical Care
The couple's two sons, identified as Arshad Ahmed, 20, and Kamran Ahmed, 24, sustained injuries in the crash. They were shifted to Bhaderwah Hospital along with their parents, where the medical staff declared Zulfikar Ali and Rehana Begum deceased upon arrival. The sons remain under treatment at the hospital, with their condition being closely monitored by healthcare professionals.

In the wake of this heartbreaking event, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his condolences through a post on the social media platform X. His message acknowledged the loss and extended sympathies to the bereaved family and the Jammu and Kashmir Police force.
