Jodhpur Farmer Arrested After Fatal Iron Rod Attack on Wife, Daughter Injured
In a disturbing incident of domestic violence that has shocked the community, a farmer in Jodhpur allegedly killed his wife by striking her head with an iron rod during an early morning altercation on Thursday. The brutal attack occurred in Guda Bishnoian village, where the accused also injured his teenage daughter when she attempted to save her mother.
Early Morning Tragedy Unfolds in Family Home
According to police officials, the horrific incident took place around 4 AM when the couple, identified as Birbalram and Guddi (35), were in their bedroom while their three children slept in another room. SHO Dilip Khadav of Vivek Vihar police station revealed that an argument erupted between the husband and wife, escalating rapidly into violence.
"In a fit of rage, Birbalram picked up an iron rod and carried out a fatal attack on his wife Guddi," stated SHO Khadav. "The assault was so severe that it proved immediately life-threatening."
Daughter's Brave Intervention Leads to Injury
The couple's eldest daughter, 15-year-old Nikita, was awakened by her mother's screams and rushed to her parents' room. Witnessing the violent attack, the teenager courageously tried to intervene and protect her mother from further harm.
Tragically, her father did not spare her either, striking Nikita with the same iron rod. The blow resulted in a fracture to her hand, adding physical injury to the psychological trauma of witnessing her mother's murder.
Aftermath and Police Investigation
Following the assault, Birbalram fled the scene, leaving behind a critically injured wife and traumatized daughter. Nikita managed to alert relatives in the neighborhood, who immediately arranged transportation to a nearby hospital.
Medical authorities declared Guddi dead upon arrival, confirming the fatal nature of the injuries sustained during the iron rod attack. Nikita received treatment for her fractured hand while dealing with the emotional devastation of losing her mother in such violent circumstances.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest
Jodhpur police launched an immediate manhunt for the accused farmer, locating and arresting him just a few hours after the incident. Birbalram was apprehended approximately 3-4 kilometers away from the family home, preventing any possibility of further violence or escape.
