Kalaburagi Police Crack Down on Inter-State Bike Theft Operation

In a significant breakthrough against organized vehicle crime, the Kalaburagi City Police have successfully dismantled an inter-state bike theft ring. The operation led to the arrest of two notorious thieves and the recovery of 14 stolen motorcycles with a combined value of approximately ₹12.6 lakh.

Complaint Triggers Major Investigation

The case unfolded when Rohit Kolarkar, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout in Kalaburagi, filed a formal complaint at the Sub-Urban police station on January 22. Kolarkar reported that his motorcycle, which was parked in front of his house, had been stolen. This complaint set in motion a dedicated police investigation under the direct guidance of Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner, Dr. Sharanappa SD.

Strategic Police Action Leads to Arrests

Acting on intelligence and following a thorough investigation, a police team identified and apprehended two individuals who were acting suspiciously in the Kapanur Industrial Area of the city on Wednesday. The arrested suspects have been identified as Mohammad Naseer, 24, a resident of Mominpur Gola Chowk in Kalaburagi city, and Mohammad Arif, 19, who hails from Millat Nagar.

Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD confirmed that the duo are known inter-state bike thieves with a history of similar criminal activities across state lines. Their arrest marks a crucial victory for law enforcement in curbing vehicle theft in the region.

Substantial Recovery of Stolen Property

Following the arrests, police conducted searches that resulted in the seizure of 14 stolen motorcycles from various manufacturers. The recovered bikes, valued at around ₹12.6 lakh, represent significant property that will be returned to their rightful owners through proper legal channels.

The police operation not only stopped the immediate criminal activity but also disrupted a larger theft network that had been operating across state boundaries.

Legal Proceedings and Police Commendation

The two accused have been formally handed over to judicial custody, where they will face legal proceedings for their alleged crimes. Commissioner Sharanappa SD publicly praised the police officers and personnel involved in the successful operation, highlighting their dedication and effective investigative work.

"The team demonstrated exceptional professionalism in tracking down these notorious inter-state bike thieves and bringing them to justice," stated Commissioner Sharanappa. "Their efforts have made our streets safer and sent a strong message that such criminal activities will not be tolerated in Kalaburagi."

This case serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to remain vigilant about parking security while demonstrating the Kalaburagi Police's commitment to tackling organized crime and protecting citizens' property.
