CHENNAI: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president and Rajya Sabha member Kamal Haasan has extended his support to the Tamil Nadu government's newly launched 'Singappen' special task force, which aims to enhance women's safety across the state.

In a post on social media, the actor-turned-politician expressed his delight over the initiative, noting that the task force has been introduced with the slogan 'No compromise on women's safety.' He further highlighted that it was gratifying to see the announcement made by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, which includes an allocation of approximately ₹354 crore for the initiative and the creation of 2,500 new jobs.

“I wholeheartedly welcome this excellent initiative taken by the government. I sincerely hope that these announcements will be put into practice and serve as a protective fortress for every single woman,” Kamal Haasan said in his statement.
