The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) suspended the constable with immediate effect. The complaint was filed by Mahesh Verma, the district president of UP Adarsh Vyapar Mandal, on the social media platform X. Verma alleged that police personnel deployed on PRV 9303 were eating ice cream and golgappe without paying the shopkeepers for the eatables.

After the complaint went viral on social media, police officers took cognizance of the matter and ordered a preliminary inquiry. According to police officials, the in-depth departmental investigation into the matter was handed over to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Ghatampur. During the investigation, statements of the parties concerned will be recorded and available evidence will be examined. Further departmental action will be taken based on the investigation report.

ACP Collectorganj/Dial-112, Anand Kumar Ojha, stated that the matter came to the department's notice through social media. After the allegations were found correct in the preliminary inquiry, Constable Suresh Kumar was suspended. He added that the departmental investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge.
