Kanpur e-rickshaw attack: Case filed after boy critically injured

Kanpur: In a shocking incident, the Raipurwa police on Wednesday night registered a case against eight individuals from Chamanganj under several serious charges, including attempt to murder, for critically injuring a six-year-old boy.

Incident Details

According to police, the incident occurred on April 20 at around 10:00 pm. A local resident, identified as Pintu, in an inebriated state, forced the child to sit in an e-rickshaw. He then performed stunts, pushed the child off the moving vehicle, and later ran the wheels over him.

Victim Rescued and Hospitalized

The child was later taken to a hospital by the e-rickshaw owner, Dheeraj, and his wife. The victim's mother stated that the accused also threatened to kill her if she filed a police complaint.

Police Action

Raipurwa inspector Ajay Singh said that based on the written complaint, a case was registered against Pintu Pilot, Dheeraj, his wife, and five unidentified persons under charges of attempt to murder, intimidation, rioting, and other relevant sections. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
